IVYworld Burda Launches A Portal For LOHAS

German publisher Burda has launched IVYworld – a portal for a green and healthy lifestyle – in a preview version.

Mankind can’t make the one big step anymore. But many people can make many little steps. IVY will report these little steps, those countless good and important ideas (and the not so important but beautiful ideas too.) But not only our editors will cover them – everyone can contribute.

LOHAS is a multi-billion euro market. In Germany alone 3.67 million people – about 6% of the population – are highly interested in a Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability, an estimated 20 million are interested. To kick off this portal which primarily targets these Lohasians they run a MMOBSG (massively multiplayer online brain-storming game). Everyone is invited to post an idea for a better world, big or small, all ideas are welcome. In return a personal certificate which compensates the carbon dioxide emissions of a PC for a year will be issued.

For the greenhouse gas emissions trading IVYworld cooperates with greenmiles (see our coverage). The goal is to compensate 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide, currently 252 tons have been compensated already.

We will report back when the site has launched the full version.
