Clevero Explains The World

Munich based clevero [http://www.clevero.de/] is a new platform for getting advice, tips or tricks on a broad range of subjects. Unlike most other knowledge or Q&A communities in Germany (wer-weiss-was, gutefrage, Lycos IQ, Yahoo! Clever or dusagmal to name a few) clevero assigns experts for each category or topic to ensure quality.

Experts either write articles or guides on their topic and get a share of the generated ad revenue or they answer questions from users. Anyone can sign up to become an expert for a topic, the knowledgeability will be reviewed by clervero’s quality management team before the aspiring expert is assigned.

Although written by experts the quality of the articles often is pretty poor and at times just reflect the lowest common denominator on what can be said about anything based on common sense and without exhausting a search engine or the wikipedia too much. If Maholo for instance might have some point (we prefilter search results so you don’t have to, we even add some extra information for your convenience) clevero tries to explain the world from the scratch pretending the web does not exist and often without adding anything new to the mix.

clevero still is very new and maybe the articles become more useful as they become more specific, but they will have a hard time keepting those experts motivated who primarily are in it for the money.
