Ourbania A Community About Urban Items

Mainz based Ourbania is a new community for people interested in architecture, commercial real estate or urbanism and who want to connect with like-minded people.

The goal of ourbania is:

to amend the online discussion about the future of cities and give people another place for communication and exchange. In opposition to perfect city the buildings, called “urban items” are in the spotlight and people, called “citizens” have more possibilities to take part

The core object of the site are urban items which can be anything from a skyscaper to a bridge. Members – ourbanists or citizens – can build these items within ourbania by adding them to the service.

general facts and real estate details for an urban item

Urban items can get a description, be geolocated on a map, photos from flickr are associated and general facts like country, city or project status and real estate details like investment volume, developer, builder, etc. can be added in a structured way to make the platform searchable. Of course there are tags and members can rank items or comment upon them.

An upcoming release will introduce more ways for users to communicate with each other or to connect based on interest or location.

The platform was founded by mediaman from Mainz and Eurohypo from Frankfurt.
