mypeopls is another freshly squeezed German service which provides the basic building blocks for creating a DIY community.
Similar to six groups (see our coverage) mypeopls lets you create your very own social network with a few mouse clicks. The site is built around the notion of modules like blogs, forums, photos, videos, RSS, etc. which you can add to a network via drag and drop. There are plenty of ready made designs to chose from, if you want you can modify them to your liking and you can send out invitations, manage the members of your community and control your privacy settings, of course.
Nicely done, maybe they are a bit too aggressive on the ad side of things, but you’ve gotta pay the bills. An honorable mention has to go to the captcha they use when signing up which is a clear and crisp alternative to those impressionistic paintings which make you repeat the signup process eight times until you get in.
mypeopls was founded by Jörg Bunjes, Rainer Philipp, Nico Flemming and Gerno Thieleke, they are based in Hamburg.
