Beeings Launches A Marketplace For Services

Leipzig based Beeings is a new marketplace for matching the supply and demand of services which launched this week. Worker bees can create a profile and describe up to ten services they provide, people who want to have something done can search for the most promising member, get in contact and negotiate the specifics.

Since this is an obviously useful concept this has been surprisingly untapped territory in Germany so far. There are a few vertical search engines and directories for offering services or finding a craftsman (e.g. Dienstleistungen finden, einfach leben or Dienstleistungen online24) and recently blauarbeit – a platform for reverse auctions for craftsmen – has launched, but none of these sites leverages social features (let us know in the comments if we are missing a site which does.) Beeings does a reasonable job at that.

The profiles can include references to previous accomplishments and once a service has been consumed via Beeings the provider can be rated, which over time will build a layer of trust. One of the most interesting features is that members also can join teams to perform tasks they couldn’t provide alone.

The site mainly targets students and self employees who want to earn some pocket money in the low wage segment, but there is no inherent reason why the service should not be picked up by various professionals.
