Justaloud A New Marketplace For Musicians

justaloud is a community for music lovers and a marketplace for musicians which launched today. Fans can connect with each other and with musicians, artists can sell their music using an interesting pricing model:

The prices in this Community Pricing Modell are not fixed but based on the popularity of a track. Each song kicks off for free, the price increases as more and more people buy it, the maximum price is 99c.

Kudos for trying to bring some variation to the standard 99c per track pricing model. I’m no economist, but I think they are missing a huge opportunity of creating a really liquid pricing scheme. Anyway, artists get cool 85% of the revenues which makes it an interesting distribution platform for established artists as well as long as they are not stuck in conflicting contracts.

They also teamed up with sevenload for KARACHOO TV – a video blog providing interviews with musicians in and around Stuttgart.
