Hoodster A Social Network Made In A Weekend
Inspired by the idea of the Startup Weekend – which goal is to get a startup up and running on a single weekend – Sven Wiesner asked himself whether this can be done. Definitively not someone second guessing himself, Sven decided to just give it a shot this weekend.
The result is Hoodster – a vertical community which connects artists and musicians from the Weser-Ems area in Germany.
Hoodster is built upon the Ning platform which provides many modules (e.g. photo and video sharing, groups, managing members) for assembling a social network for free, yet it is amazing to see a real world example with a well defined purpose, custom made design, localisation and targeted copy writing.
